I'm tired of rubbish hair cuts and I'm getting to the point of cutting it myself. At least then I can only blame myself for having a dumb hair cut.
    Any advice?

make sure you have someone to over after you've done it. my brother cut his own hair and missed a noticeable patch. it was hilarious.

Get a razor and some clippers, that way you'll get an even cut and there's virtually zero chance of messing it up.

No, I mean the things you put on a razor so you don't shave the whole thing off. You get different lengths depending on how short you want it.
