Would you rather be able to speak to animals or speak all languages fluently?

Are you more Dr Dolittle or Dr Who?

Do you want to have a catch up with your cat or do you just wish you could order pizza correctly?

***** please, animals must use a language to communicate so the first option is superfluous.

Well according to Wittgenstein's theory of language games, even if a lion could speak we wouldn't understand it, and so the opposite should apply should it not?
We share completely different worlds to the animals, so effective communication would be impossible, even if we could speak their "language", so although it'd be p cool, every language on earth would be cool too (albeit to a lesser extent) and better.

How are you going to remember what the other person said though? All languages you can just know anything whatever they're saying to you.

Yeah fair point. It would be so cool to understand everything that they're saying. You could even understand your pets then!

All languages. At least then I'd have some decent skills to put on my CV

I'd much rather be able to speak with animals, because then I'd be able to tell Pippin why it's wrong eat her poo. I remember, when I was showing the children where sewage went, that sludge cake is definitely not the sort of cake you'd eat. If only Pippin would have been able to understand me. It would have saved so many trips to the vet.

All languages kind of implies all possible languages, including animals - thus making the first option redundant?

Rendering the entire poll completely pointless and self-serving.

speak all languages, it'd be so much more useful. Plus you can already kind of communicate with dogs and that's enough.
