I'm currently in Year 9. Suppose I'm very capable of getting a Grade 9, what are the chances my school will let me take GCSE (Edexcel) Maths early (considering things like it's a new course and my timetable after etc.)? Also, I heard somewhere that the grade boundaries will be at it's lowest ever since it's a new course - not really sure about this though.

    P.S. I don't go to a grammar school.

State schools are discouraged from early GCSE entry and for school performance purposes only your first result counts. It is unlikely that they would permit year 9 entry and would only do year 10 entry if a top grade was certain and they had a plan in place for what to do with you in year 11. If you are not challenged by your GCSE maths study then talk to your maths teacher or head of maths about what you can do to stretch yourself.
P.S. People chat nonsense about grade boundaries all the time.

It will almost certainly be lower, but it depends on the difficulty of the paper.
