    What if I apply for courses which state BBB-BCC entry requirements but actually get CCD;

    Is it still possible to get into the desired uni via clearing?

    Long story short I'm aiming to get into Aston Uni (req BCC), I'm currently getting D/Cs:/

    Based on what I know about the university I attended.
    You'll have to have a very good reason/motivation in your cover letter for them to consider you.

    why not go to uni that offers a foundation year? they would consider you with lower grades. If you're getting C's & D's you wouldn't cope at uni going straight onto the first year, that's why the grades requirements are higher.

    Not a chance.

    Its one of those silly myths that Unis drop their entry requirements at Clearing - they don't.
    And a University like Aston will not accept D grades.

    You have a choice here - either work your butt off to get better grades and apply next year with known grades that meet the entry requirements in full, or think of something else - HNC, HND, apprenticeship, job etc.
