    Help is needed on a question in the M2 Edexcel book. Review exercise number 2 questions 25 and 34. I understand how part A to both questions were answered and it all makes sense. Its just when it comes to part B I understand that yes, they resolved vertically and found the reaction forces however if we find the components of the forces acting in the line of the rod/pole I get an answer different. For example for question 34 if you do 10(g)sin(60) - (ans from part A)sin(30) you should surely get the same answer as before the other by using two different methods? Please help it has been bugging me for weeks now. Ask me if you need any help with the question.

    A trap door is open at 60 degrees to the horizontal by a pole. The trap door is modelled as a uniform rod AB, of mass 10kg and length 1.2m, smoothly hinged at A. The pole is modelled as a light rod BC, smoothly hinged at AB at B. The points A and C are at the same horizontal level, AC=1.2m and the plane ABC is vertical.
    A). Find the thrust in BC
    B). The magnitude of the force acting on the rod AB at A
