    Hey all,

In my GCSEs I got 5A* (Maths,Chemistry, Physics, Biology, French) 5As (Eng Lang, Eng lit, Geo, History and Russian )and an A at AS Level (took one early)
I'm doing Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology AS level and french a level.
I was wondering whether these results are good enough for a top uni for medicine like UCL, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Southampton.
I'm also a year younger and i was wondering if that would affect my application.
I also Have work experience at Queen's Square Neurology department and i have volunteered at my local nursing home and I've got a placement shadowing a doctor at St Georges next year.

Are these results and work placements good enough?

Of course! Just pick strategically and with a good UKCAT you should not have a problem. But remember, that all medical schools are 'top unis'. Those at the bottom of the league table one year can be near the top the next. All the best.
