    Hey!
I've recently finished my personal statement and my UCAS application ready to send off on the 1st of November but i'm having last minute worries about my choices.

I loved UCL and the course that they would provide but am wondering if it is even worth applying as i'm not what you'd call academically flawless unlike some of the people who I will be competing for a place against.

My AS grades were okay but not what I hoped for. An A in Business Studies and PE and then a C for English (not ideal I know) and a C for Biology.

I'm predicted an A* for business and an A in both English and PE.

    I got 2 A*, 4 A, 4 B and 1 C at GCSE.

Would they even consider me in the application process on an academic basis?
Hope you are all getting on okay with your applications.

    Thanks for reading

The C in English AS is not great, but I think it is still worth applying to UCL if you want to go there. They will consider you, you may not get in, but they will certainly read your application. You have a chance, it's up to you if you want to take that chance or not.

Thank you. I think I will apply just in case then. Yeah I know, I was gutted about that C.

Do you think UCL are going to believe that you are capable of an A at A2 when you achieved a C at AS, i don't think so.

No, but it is quite clear that if the OP doesn't apply she has 0% chance of getting in; if she applies, she has a small chance but it is greater than zero. Given that she has five choices, there is nothing wrong with having a shot at something which might at first glance appear out of reach.

You might think your contributions are witty or insightful. If so, you are incorrect. I don't think the OP, or anyone else for that matter, need take a lot of notice of someone who doesn't really understand the application procedure.

    .
I agree with this completely! I'm in my third year studying English now; my AS grades were absolutely shocking, on record they're BBCDUU (over two years). My first choice said on their website AAB, I applied on a whim, got an offer of ABB, and they accepted me on grades BBB. If you want to go to UCL, you might as well try. You'll regret it if you don't!

Bare in mind that your grades aren't the only things they look at. Personal statement and references make up a large amount of your application too!

    Good luck!
