Gordon Hall is part of the Lancaster Complex of Halls. Gordon Hall itself has 100 rooms, spread over 10 flats and using 10 kitchens. That means that you will have 9 other people on your floor and sharing your kitchen.

As far as I'm aware, it is ensuite. And you are next to the Arts Centre.

Regarding the architecture, well it is not amazing but apparently it is the newest complex of Halls on campus until next year. The rear of the complex faces onto a nice patch of grass next to a stream. That must be very nice to study on when the weather is fine.

I don't know why people are so keen to reveal their flat numbers on the Internet. :s-smilie:

That's ok for you: you're anonymoose. But I do not want people knowing where Andy Pipkin from TSR lives!

Fair enough
Eekk!! I got a phonecall today from Brunel and apparently I haven't received their email or something.. anyway, they've put me in Chepstow! I don't know what to think about that. I mean I wanted ensuite but then again, my only problem with shared is if the other people don't care about the condition of the bathrooms =/

Also from the pictures I've seen on the site, Chepstow's kitchen is not nearly as "eye pleasing" as other halls are... but then again it is cheaper.. I soo don't know what to do and I must answer by tomorrow at 4pm! Does anybody know anything about Chepstow or living in shared at Brunel? I don't know if I should phone them tomorrow and beg for ensuite or simply go with it. Heeelp..

dimmed star - was brunel your firm/insurance/clearing ?

also, when did you 'apply' for accomodation
It was my firm choice and I applied for it through ucas months ago... however I gave my room preference a little too late I think :s

aargh i better get ensuite
Shared would be fine as long as everyone is keen on keeping things clean.. I just don't know how much is that actually going to happen. So still undecided if I should beg for ensuite or not lol

Just get on the phone and enquire - no need to beg, just politely ask if they have any ensuite rooms left

I was in Chepstow in my freshers year...and loved it! The halls are cleaned every morning, including kitchen/toilets and shower so really isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

We will be getting video footage of a standard room/kitchen/bathroom from each halls up on Bruwat in the next couple of days, I'll keep you informed.

But definitely don't be put off by them...the price is better and the rooms are a lot bigger than ensuite as you don't have your room chopped in half by a bathroom.
Thank you sam, I needed to hear that :p:
I was just a little worried that because of the price it will be a hole or something but I've been coming to terms with it all and I've already paid the deposit so I'm ready to embrace Chepstow for better or worse!

By the way, do the cleaning ladies go inside the room too? And if so when/how often?
This is Gordon Hall, taken from Saltash Hall forecourt.

Behind me is the Medical Centre, and to my left is the Lecture Centre and Library (Bannerman Centre). To my right is Saltash Hall and behind Saltash is a fairly large grass court with a stream running through, which fronts on to more Halls. Behind Gordon Hall is the Arts Centre and in a diagonally right kind of direction is some Sports facilities (gym etc.) and Bar Zest, a popular student lounge bar!
