    How do I work out which colour is dominant and which is recessive in this example?

    Every time I try I just confuse myself into frustration.
    The "pure-breeding plants grown from yellow seeds" is supposed to give you a clue about their genetic make up. In addition, if you think about mating a plant with 2 recessive alleles and a plant with 2 dominant alleles, all of the offspring would show the dominant alleles' phenotype. In this example, the dominant allele would be the yellow genotype.
