Where am I going wrong? (Getting a GF) watch

I'm almost 20 and have literally never had a girlfriend! I'm reasonably outgoing and I'm also probably more confident in most situations that the average student (I'm one of the few in my uni class who actually interact)

When it comes to doing stuff with girls I'm not quite so confident (I only got my first kiss a month or so ago, but that was because it was the first time I didn't give a damn and just went for it)

I seem to get stares now and again from girls so I don't think it's my looks that are holding me back. So how is it that I have never even come close to getting a GF?

Where do you think I could am going wrong? Also how can I increase my chances of getting a GF? Of course I'm not going to force it but because everyone around me is in a relationship it is hard not to think about it.

How many girls have you asked out? Of the girls that give you stares, how many do you approach?
