Have just receive notice of what student maintenance loan my son is going to get. I am shocked as it will not cover his accommodation let alone his food or books! Our annual income is less than 30,000, how is he to survive? We have not been means checked unlike when my daughter applied. Can we get this changed for him or is it too late to be means tested?

He can get the amount changed up until 9 months after his course starts.

Do you know if he ticked the box asking for the maximum loan?

    Hi there

As Tiger Rag has advised, your son has 9 months after the start of the academic year to make changes.

If your son wishes to have his application means tested, please have him request this.

    Thanks
