# Binomial expansion c4 watch

1. For part g , why is binomial expansion only used for the bottom not for the top part ? is it because you can expand the top part easily ? but what is the top part is to the power of 3 ?

Thanks

(in red) Yes.

You could use the binomial for the top part, but it would only give you what you already know.

Similarly (1+x)^3, etc. Some people know them, others use the binomial expansion, some people multiply them out. Whichever method is easiest/quickest for you.
