Just curious, I'm in my 30's. I've been to maybe less than 5 in my life. Lol.

    Is that really weird?

Nope, they're not for everyone. But... they're worth biting the bullet for to potentially meet new people.

Never found them " fun " either, I get bored in seconds.

likewise, they're fairly useless and not exactly my idea of a good time. that's very much reserved to a battlefield scout class

Nope. Up to you what you do with your life, and they're not for everyone. I'm not particularly fond of them myself.

I read parties as panties at first and was so confused.

It's not weird. I'm not massively into parties myself.

    Weird? No

But it's an easy way to meet new people. And some of them are incredibly fun

It is weird to have not gone to at least five parties by the age of 30.

Tbh parties are completely reliant on the people there. I've been to shite ones I've wanted to leave almost instantly (however I tend to find that it relies on everyone's willingness to socialise).... but been to others where we've been partying for almost two days......

It does really depend on your personality and the people you are with. I'm quite a shy person if I am around a lot of people I don't know, but if there's a bigger group of mates then I can be really outgoing. I enjoy partying and clubbing etc, but if I'm being dragged along by one or two mates then I don't really enjoy it. It doesn't make you weird, and it's not wrong to dislike (or love) partying.

I would recommend going and showing face, even if it is just for half an hour or so. If you don't enjoy it, then it's not a big chunk of your time gone, but it can always be a great night that you could have missed out on! But I mean, if you have pretty solid friendships and have a pretty decent social life then it's not really a big deal. If you feel your friendships are affected by it or you're struggling to meet people, then showing face or finding other ways of spending time with people will be great. Parties aren't everything, if you don't enjoy them then you don't enjoy them! Always worth giving them a proper try though. I thought I would hate going out partying and clubbing until I went out a few times and enjoyed it.

You don't have to drink, yes. I know of plenty of people who don't drink and still have a good time. Try talk to the other people at the party. Chill with your friends for a bit, soak up the atmosphere then converse with the others.

I'd say I'm pretty introverted, but at a party it is totally justifiable to talk to complete strangers randomly - it's what you're there for.
