    Hi guys,

I've been having an issue since half way through my AS year (I'm in A2 now) and it's that my Geography teacher just does not care about our grades and seems to have low expectations for us all.

When I receive my marked assessments back, it just says the grade and doesn't say where I've done well or what I need to improve on. If I ask him for help, he just says it says what I need to know on the sheet.

He refuses to offer revision sessions and he didn't even turn up to the last results day, which shows how much he really cares.

Each lesson, he sets us a research task on the board and then makes us research it for 2 hours straight. He doesn't do any teaching really.

I'm really struggling in the lesson, achieving mostly C and D grades in my assessments. I'm doing my own work outside of class and I know I need to improve, but I don't have a clue how.

Do you think it is worth me getting a personal tutor or..? What do you think I should do?

    Hi Amefish
It might be worth speaking to your personal or year tutor at college/school tutor or other teachers about him. Say what concerns you about him and illustrate that you think that his style of lessons are not helping you achieve the grades you want for your future career aspirations, i.e your plans for university/future job etc.
    Hope this helps.

Thank you! The thing is, I already spoke to him last year, and voiced my concerns to the curriculum manager. Nothing has changed.

It might be worth voicing your concerns again, may give him a little nudge. After all, teachers as well as students have a lot of work to cope with.

Yeah I completely agree a few of you should speak to your personal tutor and maybe head of year (or head of 6th form).

If it doesn't help and you do decide to go down the tutoring route drop me a message
