I work in a bingo hall and I f******g hate it, first of all the pay is minimum wage and I usually only get £30 a week which is barely enough to get anything. Secondly, the job is mind numbingly boring with very little activity and I find myself standing staring into space, counting the minutes until I can go home. Thirdly, a lot of the other workers don't like me - they're all 21 or younger so they're all friends and they can be catty, they constantly give me criticism for not cleaning the floor properly or other things, yet if the supervisor's not in they sit in the office eating crisps and drinking tea and expecting me to do everything! Last night they took my phone and refused to give it back to me until the end of my shift, meaning I couldnt book a taxi home so I was left on halloween night in the middle of the street with no way home. Should I look for a new job as this is mentally draining me?

Yes . A new job would seem sensible. Still time to sort a chirstmas job out.

Sounds like you need an attitude adjustment.

It sounds to me like you're being bullied at work. Have you told them to stop or explained how they're making you feel? Are there formal procedures at your place of work in regards to bullying/harassment? If there isn't or your situation still doesn't improve you can contact Acas to discuss your options and your rights, including what you can do if you're not happy with the outcome of your complaint.

If you don't feel you can take action or your situation doesn't improve then you might consider it's best to leave. If you decide to leave because of such treatment contact Acas or a solicitor specialising in employment law for advice about your rights.
