What level of professionalism are you looking for? Professional football like a Premier League team or for an amateur league? I will assume you mean the former.

It's harder to become a professional football player the older you get, a lot of people start at a young age and train for years. Though with a singer not everyone has a singing voice either so you do need to be very good to become a top artist (I assume that's what you want to be?). But I guess with shows like The Voice and X Factor, it could give you a route to success.

With football you really need to have been training seriously from a young age, and are then often scouted by one of the football clubs. You would need to stand out from everyone else. As for singing; well its a talent that you have to be born with. You can greatly improve and take singing lessons which will teach you things like breath control, but you have to have a voice there from the start to work with. It's not something that can be manufactured. Any talent; singing, sports, drawing can be worked on and improved over time, but the basic talent has to be there from the start, and that is usually something you are born with.
