My data was positively skewed so I did a log transformation (using SPSS) and the p value is the same. I'm still quite new to stats so I don't really understand the significance of this and whether this is supposed to happen. I thought the purpose of a transformation was to improve the p value.
Is the p value supposed to stay the same after a transformation or should I be trying a different type of transformation?
    Thanks
