If a university has a low percentage of graduates getting 2:1 or above (e.g.50% or lower) then what does that indicate? I was checking sites such as Unistats and WhichUni, and Brunel's business management degrees have a percentage of about 50% 2:1s or above, but Nottingham Trent and Uni of Sheffield have about 70-80% gaining 2:1 or above in their business degrees.

It probably means that the teaching for that course is at a lower standard at Brunel than the teaching at the other institutions with higher average grades. Basically they might not be very good at teaching that particular course at Brunel compared to the other unis

Why are you bumping this when someone has answered it? And at least acknowledge the guy's response instead of ignoring him in the hope for a better one.

Put simply, more people at Nottingham Trent or Sheffield leave with better degree classifications than at Brunel. This indicates several things, most notably:
The teaching standard could be poorer are Brunel
The demands of what is expected to achieve a higher grade could be greater at Brunel
The student capabilities might be less at Brunel
    - and of course, use the inverse for Nottingham Trent and Sheffield.
