    Treatment of first wives might be an obvious one! Or depending on which way you want to look at it, you could argue that both husbands were abusive to their wives, or both wives were abusive to their husbands (I would lean more towards the former personally). If you wanted to go down a different route, you could focus on the environment of each novel i.e. creepy houses.

    Did you have any thoughts on what you want to focus on?
