too self-interested

how self-interested is too self interested? should a person focus on themselves or focus on others? i say because i think i am becoming too occupied with myself. by not focusing on me, i might lose my personality?

Well it's fairly self-interested to start a thread out of concern about your character. I'd say just carry on being who you are until someone punches you in the face for it.

well there's self interested, and then there's arrogant and conceited....it depends on where you are...and no you wouldnt lose your personality, you'd expand and maybe improve it

There will be many different view on this. However I'll say its bad when your self interests are at the huge expensive of others.

There might be an element of negative narcissism though, thats what I believe?
