The Student Room Group
Hi, im a Sainsbury's employee and I have been through the interview process, but my interview was on my own with the checkout manager not in a group but I expect the process will be similar.

On mine I had to do a roleplay involving customer service, so i would imagine there would be a similar sort of task. U may have to answer some; what would u do if? questions, i did.

Like with all group interviews dont just sit silently because u wont get the job, ull need to be active in the interview. Also, at the store i work in at least, customer service is so so important so when you do the role play think of other ways u could help the customer and give a more personal service. If you treat the role play like that your sure to get the job. By the way, what position are you applying for?

24 hours.[/ arghhh!!

Any other tips??
Training for a checkout operator is the standard induction and then usually 6 hours till training. Then u can do a further day for kiosk training or about a weeks customer services training, but they are optional or dependant on being asked.

Im not sure about the online shoppers cos i dont know anyone tht does tht but for the checkout ur definatly have to do a gd 6 hours till training.

Just got back.

Had to choose a meal for 5 customer profiles - on our own.

5 Minuite quick interview - mailny what hours we can work

Then discuss as a team what meals we chose and as a group decide which was the best option.

I just KNOW i haven't got it though. Too many people there for one posistion - one girl had done exacly the same job but in a different sainsbury's store.

I have one in Glasgow on Friday and I'm thinking the same there's two days of group interviews and it seems to be for the one position.. not much of a chance there is there? I'm going anyway if anything for the experience since I haven't had a job interview before.

Did you get the job?
The online shopping is bloody easy - not rocket science. I had a one to one interview with the department manager at the time - asked me what shifts I could and when. Went onto the shop floor with another girl, showed the ropes and I had my own shopping to do the following shift I worked.

Ooooo - did you get the job then???
