Non-Guaranteed Accommodation

Hi, I made the mistake of using a normal stamp with my accommodation form so I didnt get my second form to the accommodation office until after the deadline. Just wondering if there are any students on here who were non-guaranteed for their accommodation last year and how things worked out for them. Is there much chance of me getting my first choice of the Hawthorns?? My second choice is Elmgrove Park, anybody know much about this place??

Hawthorns is a student house as with Elmgrove Park, I shouldn't expect you'll have too much trouble getting into the Hawthorns especially given how many people did the stamp thing. As for Elmgrove park i'm sure you'll be fine if you don't get the Hawthorns :smile:

I don't wish to be a bearer of bad news but somewhere on some other thread was a link for ppl who had put bristol as their insurance and wished to apply from accomm late (http://www.bris.ac.uk/accom/lateapps.html)

they say:
Any spaces we have are likely to be in :-

* Badock Hall
* Churchill Hall
* Hiatt Baker Hall
* Unite House

anyway, give it a shot. you have nothing to lose right?

I'm non guaranteed because I'm local (despite living on the edge of the boundary - hmph, very unimpressed about that). Which basically means I'm screwed since even though I handed it in on time (I handed my envelope to the guy in the Union when my Mum and I were having a day out in town), I'm at the bottom of the barrel because I can still get to the Uni in the mornings and there will be non guaranteed students that can't (50 minute bus journey! Awesome!).

Any other locals? I've yet to meet one on this board!

hey guys

theres still a few rooms left at unite house. me and a couple of mates had to pull out of our flat in there last minute. its central and very reasonable, with good sized bedrooms, three things most halls dont have. lol.

take a look at the thread i started...
