conditional offer / ielts

i have received a conditional offer for the postgraduate program international employment relations and human resource management. I'm required to pass the ielts with a minimum score of 7.0. The score i received is 7.0 and more specifically
listening/reading : 7.5
writing : 7.0
speaking : 6.5.
Do you think that this may be a problem in order to change the status of my offer to unconditional? I am worried because they require a mark of 7.0 or above to each part. I sent my score on 3rd of August and they haven't answered my yet. How many days does it take in order to receive an answer by them?

Thank everyone in advance

Hi there,

first of all, it takes them some time to answer queries. You can check their processing times online on the graduate admissions pages.
As to your conditional offer, I guess this won't be a problem. Other unis such as Oxford or Cambridge expect a minimum score of 7.0 too, with at least 6.5. in the reading part (which is the hardest for most students). The worst that could happen to you is that they want you to repeat the test. Having said that, I assume you'll be fine with your test results.

Good luck!

Hi!

I have also a conditional offer of admission to the MSc in IR & HRM. I guess the conditions were the same as yours... 107 in the toefl exam and a minimum mark of 7 overall your degree. At the moment, I have met the condition of the degree's mark, and still don't know my toefl score (I had the exam last week). I honestly don't think that I will reach a 107 in the toefl exam. I found the reading very difficult and the listening part too. The worst thing is that I don't have time to repeat the exam, as the registration deadline is the 26th of September and the toefl organisation takes about 3 weeks to give you the scores. My question is: have I got any chance of getting in the Master's degree although I don't meet the language requirement? I have asked LSE this same question and the answer is always the same... "your application will be taken under consideration". How true is that?

Thanks a lot,
Cristina.

cristina i really don't know. what i have heard though is that they are very strict with us when we fail to meet the conditions of our conditional offers. I recommend that you take the ielts test if possible. I fail to get the score needed in the toefl test, but i found ielts easier. I think that it would be a good idea!
I really hope to meet you at London, since we will be at the same programme!!!
I got a conditional offer letter from university of Hertfordshire ...dat IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each band...but i scored
Band 6.0
Listening : 6
Reading : 5
Writing : 5.5
Speaking : 7.0
So will they accept my admission??
