loughborough prides itself on engineering, but i doubt that either university will give you an edge on "brand-name" alone. you need to look at the structure of the course (what is taught, how it is taught, where it is taught etc) and understand exactly what skills and knowledges employers want you to have. you then match the job description to the course description.

In terms of reputation, I would say that Leeds was slightly superior. There isn't a great deal in it though. I'd also echo what The Boosh has said; compare the content of both courses when deciding, as one may suit your interests more than the other.
