Just a thread to see how everyone got on and to discuss whether or not we are happy with our grades.

    Sociological methods- 63/90 B
    Family and households- 100/105 A
    Education- 105/105 A

I'm really happy with my result for families, as I practically taught myself the unit because my tecaher didn't get to finish teaching it. Although, I am disappointed with methods because it should have been the best mark out of the lot, as it is the easiest. In two minds whether or not I should resit it.

How did everyone else get on?

    Family - 86/105 A
    Education - 89/105 A
    Research methods - 77/90 A

    Overall 252/300 A

    Im not happy

    Methods - 70/90 - B (2 away from A!!!!!!!)
Family - 78/105 - B (i believe this is the result of not finishing and rushing at the end my last essay must of been terrible )
    Education - 97/105 (reasonable)

    Overall 245/300 - A

Its an A, but a bad A. I am tempted to retake Family in June as i know i can get 90+ UMS marks, my essay timing is fine now.

The worst thing about sociology is the timing. It is a fairly straightforward subject, it's just finishing all of the questions to a high standard that can be quite frustrating in timed conditions. What I do is answer questions b,c and d in bullet points and concentrate on the essay style questions.

I only took methods this year, but my overall AS results were

    F+H: 87/105 A
    Ed: 87/105 A
    Meth: 81/90 A

Unfortunately my A2 results left a lot to be desired.

Edit: And I was never taught Methods, I did coursework last year and got a D, so I borrowed this little book off my teacher, read it the weekend before the exam and fluked the A.

Sociology Unit 4 (Power and Politics) 83/90
Sociology Unit 5 (Theory and Methods) 85/90
Sociology Unit 6 (Crime and Deviance) 84/120

Don't know how I did it but...
    Sociological methods (Cwk) 81/90
    Family 105/105
Education 105/105, I really am confused how I got that!

    291/300 A
