I would just like to know whether anyone has any advice for my studies, perhaps any mistakes you've made and how I could possible avoid them. Thank you.

    use the oxford textbook
    study the practicals
do lots of past paper questions - you'll start to see patterns in questions e.g. enzymes
    peep the resources here http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=3845551
    (the cheat sheet is amazing)
study regularly over the year - small + often is a good strategy. (i got up at 4am on exam day to revise till 1pm, trust me just revise early in the year even if you lose motivation it's more about self-discipline)
i got an A in the end btw
