    Hello!

I'm 3rd year med student from Poland and I wanted to complete my summer practice in 2017 in UK. Unfortunately the majority of hospitals runs student electives programmes only for medical students in their final or penultimate year. Do you know any hospitals without this kind of requirement?

Hi, are you interested in a particular area of Medicine? Are you looking for a placement anywhere in the UK or are you looking at a specific area (e.g. London)?

If you've already started your clinical years then you could try to apply through Sheffield medical school as I know being in final/penultimate year didn't use to be a requirement.
You should still check with them to see if anything's changed.

Alternatively, you could try Southampton general hospital as I know EU students who were there for a 1month elective and that was after their first clinical year (so year 3).
Again, that was some time ago so you'd better make an enquiry to make sure entry requirements haven't changed. Having an idea of what sort of elective you want to do (i.e. what area of medicine/surgery) would help!

Thank you for an answer! It will be 4 weeks of practice in Internal Medicine Department but we're also allowed to complete it in Cardiology, Endocrinology, Nephrology and Allergology Departments.

I don't look for any specific area. Thank you for an information about Sheffield and Southampton! Unfortunately I couldn't find any specific information about Sheffield but Southampton looks very promising

Is this a personal choice, or do you have to do your elective early in Poland?
