There's an update for the New Leaf game. Have you tried it out?

I used to, you've just reminded me that I need to get a new DS and buy it again. Was the update good?

I've never played an Animal Crossing game but I've heard some fairly positive views about some of them. I need to get around to picking some of them up, so which do you recommend? Platform isn't an issue as I have just about all consoles/handhelds leading up to present day.

Go for the New Leaf! It's a cutesy game for Nintendo 3DS. You can build your town, expand your house and interact with the villagers. It's a very relaxing game.

In the updated version, they've added a new area, the campground, where you can play minigames. :woo:You can also get specific villagers to move to your town if you have their amiibo card.

Yeah, just a bit! I've poured hours into this series over the years and loved every bit for the most part. Right from the GC to the 3DS, GC version is still very good and for myself only been surpassed by New Leaf.

I've not had chance to try New Leaf with the update though, I watched the direct and it was pretty quirky and a little strange, probably need to get myself a pack or two of Amiibo cards to see how they improve it.

Nah don't pick New Leaf up: it's like 3 years old and the online community is endangered. You're best option would be to wait for a new animal crossing.

As a collector I'm still gonna pick it up

I'd actually still recommend New Leaf, I got a couple of hundred hours out of it before I got remotely bored and then still put in maybe another hundred or so at a slower pace. Very good value even at £35 in my opinion.

Nintendo haven't mentioned anything about a new Animal Crossing game, next opportunity would probably be the next Switch event on 13/01/17 but considering they've just released a relatively substantial update from the sounds of it I get the feeling the next Animal Crossing game isn't directly around the corner (however much I wish it was).

Animal Crossing on Gamecube actually has a game inside it called excite bike lol (and it's the first one I played with most fond memories).
