I am not one to spoil peoples fun but fireworks can be a nuisance and danger to the public.

At times yes they can be. Especially when they're being used by teenagers.

This isn't exactly answering the thread, but, when I was younger, my dad used to light rocket fireworks that he held in his hand. It was bloody scary but so ****ing cool at the same time.

No need to ban them, the only inconvenience I have with them is that they're loud (can hear them literally as I'm typing this).
Other than that, I have no problem with fireworks.

Same with cars and alcohol. Would we be banning those in bluemasonland as well?

Tbh its my impression that thus type of poofaced thread is eactly the sort of thing you would complain about.

Of course not, but Diwali and Bonfire night should both have the same permitted end time

They should be available for public displays, but not sold to the general public, in my opinion. They can be very dangerous and scare so many animals, including my dog, who is currently terrified, despite calming/desensitisation therapies. I did work experience in a local vet practice during the week of Bonfire night 2 years ago and the after effects of Bonfire night are not nice. At least if people kept to 1 day a year (i.e. Bonfire night), it would improve things. My dog got such a fright a couple of nights ago when someone set off a firework while he was on his walk. He was off lead and ran home, nearly getting knocked over by 2 cars...It was lucky the drivers saw his reflective light we put on his harness. Bearing in mind, this was before 5pm and it wasn't even properly dark! As for other celebrations, it's difficult for me to say- generally people in my area don't use fireworks other than around Bonfire night/new year.
