    It's not too easy for me to define, but I will try my best.
    Consider the curve  y=ke^x where k is a real constant. Then varying the value of k will change the curve, so for example the y intercept will be  (0, k) , but even though we are free to make k whatever we want, we treat it as a fixed value, k is constant, it is not a variable.
    Another example is the horizontal line  y=k . Sure we can change the value of k, but this just changes how far from the x axis the line is, if we were to differentiate we find that  dy/dx=0 .

    They're determinable constants which don't vary in a function.

    Using f(x)=ax^2+bx+c as an example, a,b,c are parameters. You set them to some values which determine the quadratic function. e.g. using a=1, b=2, c=3, you have f(x)=x^2+2x+3.

    These differ from variables because with the latter you accept them as an argument (i.e. for the function you can have varying inputs of x) whereas the parameters of a function are pre-determined.
