DNA profile confusion A2 SNABS A

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me as i am confused of the sequences of a DNA profile. Is it restriction enzymes then PCR then gel electrophoresis? Or can you just do gel electrophoresis with only PCR or only with restriction enzymes without doing both? thanks

I'm very confused about what you're trying to do/achieve with these steps. The restriction enzymes chop up the DNA at specific places, PCR amplifies the DNA and gel electrophoresis separates it. You can use any combination of these techniques depending on what you're trying to do.
