Well I was very happy on my results, but i was 1 mark from an A in edexcel english lit/lang. i already have 3 A's but i wanted another one for my AS grades. What do people think I should do? I really want a remark on one of the units because i thought i did really well on it, then got crap results.
So should I remark that unit? Does anyone have examples of BIG changes because of remarks?

I've seen a U go to an A through remarking.
That said, even gaining more than a couple of marks is very rare. If you genuinely believe you did better than your result shows, then by all means get it remarked. But if you just want another A and didn't really deserve it, it's probably a waste of money.

if you want to study english at an elite university then you may need an A at AS to recieve an offer, but that is by no means definite - my dad is a tutor at st chads durham, and one of his students got a B in AS history and still got an offer for history due to the strength of his application and other grades (an example of a competitive uni in a competitive subject).
however, if you don't want to study english, then I see no point in remarking other than to satisfy an urge for 4 A's. I don't know if you plan on dropping any subjects, but if you don't want to study english, you won't need to consider it in any offer so it seems needless.
