Oh great... So they have not enough people doing EEE and ISE? That would explain why I haven't met anyone in this forum who is - like me - starting ISE this year... :s-smilie:
What are your A-level grades and subjects?

Apparently, Imperial is in cleaning not from a lack of student but because they want more students with "overseas" fee status. Those courses in clearing tends to be heavy lab ones that are high expenditure and hence needs a greater share of "overseas" fee students.

You can't say that without any proof, no matter how true it may be  The courses available in clearing this year are either undersuscribed or a load of people have missed their offers. So rather than take someone with ABB, I think they can ride their luck and snag someone with AAA (Come on, they have a 1 in 4 chance nowadays...)

ISE is a small course, that's why you haven't found many people.

Actually its 1 in 10. Its a lot less with sciency subjects.

1 in 4 chance of getting an A does not equal 1 in 4 chance of getting AAA

Yea ive read that too.

1 in 4 chance of someone get at least A and 1 in 10 someone getting AAA
I stand correct. The point I was trying to make was that the chances are still awfully high, even at 1 in 10.

yes, pretty embarrasing only getting AAA :P

Edit: no seriously...

if the probability of 1 A is 1/4 then for 3 az shudnt it be 1/4 * 1/4
*1/4 =1/64 like in Statistics lol
But you must understand that most people applying for Imperial are predicted AAA++.

Stop doing that, it is wrong!

Those students who an get A tends to get more As. Those students who drop out of school tend to get straight fails.

I think he was being sarcastic
Yea its more likely to get a second A when you have a first A.

Anyway my source was the department of education website. Cant be bothered to find the link now. However, you have to take into account that any A-level is an a-level as far as they are concerned, and so they also include subjects like media studies and general studies, which are total mickey mouse subjects. Thus, from this I think we can conclude that those people getting AAA or better who have only respected science subjects are much rarer than 1 in 10. Infact, I only know 2 other people in my school who got AAA and their subjects werent total ****e.

yes I was mostly being sarcastic, but tbh, if about 10% scores AAA/AAA+ of UK students (as I've read on THES, but I can't link to it since it's not free) then it isn't really hard lol. Hard would be to score in the 99'th percentile.
