‘The coconuts rained from the sawdust like brown hail stones from a stormy sky’

'Stormy sky,' is effective as it suggests anger.

Idk if this is too much of a reach, but when you say ''stormy sky'' it's almost like you're making a hissing sound which implies that there's anger/evilness.

Rain= depressing? (since rain is associated with depression or sadness)
Brown= dark colour (foreshadows dark events which will later occur)
Stormy= Anger
