What can I do to make up for lack of experience? watch

    • Thread Starter

    Hi guys,

Just looking for some advice..I graduated with a 2:1 in history in 2015 but haven't been able to secure a job yet, applying for jobs I'm not that interested in.
I have however, found a job in publishing that would be my dream job and I think I meet all the requirements/have all the right skills and can demonstrate them..

Only thing is the advert says 'It would be highly
desirable for applicants to have experience in an editorial or publishing environment' which I don't have. All I have is a job in a super market a while ago, volunteering as a researcher and I went travelling this year.

Does any body have any tips of things I can do for my application to make up for this lack of experience?

I have thought about maybe ringing the company, asking if I can visit, have an informal chat to find out more about the role, company etc..Make myself look proactive and really interested, what do you think?

    Really appreciate any advice!
