I know he is all time busy and now writing a dissertation, when I send the first text he replies and always asks a question about my life and how I am being lately but then disappears (we were talking regularly almost everyday till last month though). Can someone be that busy really? And should I text him whats going on I mean why we just can't communicate lately or leave him alone?

PS:Not boyfriend well lets say just someone I'm flirting

Just get on with other things and dont waste any more time. If he's interested he will get in contact.
