I have decided to take maths, chemistry, biology & economics. I was wondering whether they allow u to take 5 as /a-level subjects? if so, do they clash with ur timetable & u end up dropping 1 in A2?

I want to do medicine. I knw st. doms makes u do critical thinking or general studies. But i was hoping to do 5 as first (C.T. / G.S. not included).

Do u think applied ICT would be a good subject to take or may b furthur maths ?

    Any1 ?!

From what I've heard from 2 friends who do ICT, it is a pain in the backside. The coursework takes you ages, apparently. And I believe it may be blacklisted by some unis....

Likewise with Further Maths, the vast majority of medical schools would not accept FM & Maths as two distinct subjects, so unless you want to do it, rather than for the sake of doing 5 subjects, it won't be worth it.

    I'd stick with four.

Thanks. firstly, where do i find those black listed subject on net???

Secondly, im planning furthur maths to keep my options open if i dnt get into medicine. Then, i can move to maths. But i strongly desire to do medicine.

    Thanks again.

ICT involves a lot of coursework so it is probably better for you to do Further Maths which is also much more respected than ICT.

well, she wants to do medicine, and alot of the Uni's I've seen have said that maths and further maths would count as one if both are taken. But I think If you want to take 5 A-levels then you can't go wrong with Eng Lit or Physics.

Applied ICT will gain you very little recognition from unis

    face it:
Computing > ICT > Applied ICT
