Is it safe to leave overnight oats out of fridge for 2-3 hours before eating? watch

    • Thread Starter

I'm looking to make overnight oats (rolled oats, milk and yogurt basically) to take to work for breakfast. I'll leave them in the fridge from around 7pm to 6:20am but then I'd need to leave for the gym and then work. They'd be out the fridge for around 2-3 hours before I ate them. I could put them back in the fridge when I get to work for an hour or two but I'm not sure if that'd be useful at all.

Is it safe to do this as they have dairy products in? If it is, is there anything extra I can do to keep it as safe as possible?

I'd be eating them cold, by the way. I prefer them that way

Sometimes I leave left-over porridge out in the morning and eat it when I get back in the evening. Never harmed me but then again it is cooked and probably won't react the same way to being left out.
