I have read the book The Color Purple for my english literature prose coursework and we have to write our own question. I have to write from a feminist perspective but I am unsure of a question? Any ideas?

My coursework title for Lit was 'To what extent are women in The Bloody Chamber masters of their own destiny?' I was able to get a lot out of it, but I don't know how much that question would work for The Color Purple because I've never read it.

There's a few ways you can tackle this: you can look at it from a female's perspective or a male's. Such has "to what extent do male character's control women" or "explore the effects of male dominance on female characters".

For a female side; could be things like "explore the way female characters rise above male control" or "explore the presentation of female empowerment" etc etc.

Just think a lil harder next time! Took me less than a minute to conjure up those questions!

Good luck - Purple is a great novel!

If it's from the perspective of a feminist, I'd recommend utilising the following criteria:
    - Blame men for everything
    - Use key terms like patriarchy and straight cisgender white males
    - Claim cis men have lived under a rock their whole life
    - Use irrational arguments
    - Refer to wage gaps, safe spaces and rape culture
    - Cite Triggglypuff

Hope that helps - best of luck
