Hi everybody. I'm in Year 9 atm, and I'm thinking of doing GCSE maths early, mainly because I find maths really easy and I find the GCSE syllabus very boring - I've learnt most of it already. I would also like to move on to do the harder parts, and perhaps even do Further Maths GCSE early, and consequently AS-Maths early. However, there would be a couple of things that I'm concerned about: if I were to take it this year, I would be marked on a scale of A*-E, whereas if I take it when I'm in year 11 I will be marked 1-9, and the syllabus will have changed. If I did GCSE maths this year, would I be able to retake it in year 11 with another grading system? And do any of you have any past experiences on doing GCSE maths early? I haven't spoken to the school about it, but I would like to find out what you think. Also, if I took GCSE maths this year and got a good grade, do you know if I would be able to take an extra GCSE option? Sorry for the length and thanks in advance. Hector
