Hello!!

So I'm doing a translation of the introduction of the data protection act from English to Spanish and my brief that is that my translation will be read by an 8 year old.

I want to ask if anyone knows how complicated documents such as laws/the data protection act are read out/explained to young children in court?
Is there a simplified version or do they explain it as they would to anyone?

If I can justify the reasons for leaving the translation as it is/changing it completely to suit the age of the child then I won't have a problem with my assignment but I'm unsure how it works so some law knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Normally, legal documents, especially laws, aren't given to 8 year olds to just read. They would just be explained to them by a parent / guardian or by a person working there.
