    Cream first. If you do it jam first then the jam doesn't sufficiently "glue" the cream to the scone and so you'll end up with a load of cream on the floor.

    Oh, and scone most definitely rhymes with "gone".

    I guess it depends on the type of cream, but if its thick cream - then definitely cream first! otherwise the jam just does not hold the cream well!

    From a practical point of view, it has to be the jam, as it's stickier. It's a free country though, apart from those average speed cameras ..
