Hi, I'm pleased to seeing that you are considering Swansea University! Have you attended one of our Open Days? Don't worry if you haven't because if you do apply to us, you will be invited to one of our Visit days which is a great opportunity to meet the academics and students, find out more information about the course and see if you like the City as a whole.

Students at Swansea have a great social life! The University has over 100 clubs and societies for you to join and there are lots of bars and restaurants in the City centre. We have student ambassadors at all our Visit days so if you do visit us, you can speak to the students directly and see what they think of the social life and University.

If you have any other questions about Swansea, please let me know!

The main benefit that MMU has is that it's in Manchester meaning you'll get real city life. Otherwise it's a decent university. According the THE Student Experience Survey, they are in the top half of uni's in terms of overall satisfction.

Swansea is generally regarded as a much better university, and i've heard excellent things about the engineering department. You'd be studying in the new Bay Campus which is right next to the beach and has brand new facilities as well as accomodation. Dorms are quite fab. The engineering programme is sufficiently broad and lets you tinker with some new technologies and be exposed to the cutting edge research that is going on there. I don't know about Medical, but their Civil programme rivals many RGs.

The university as a whole has been rapidly improving and has been rising in the ranks.

Swansea itself is a bit smallish for me personally. It's close to some of the most beautiful countryside in the world, but it's not a very cultural place if that is what matters.
