I have a paper due in on the 9th November 2016 and I have no idea how to do it.

It is meant to be a discursive essay on the following question
'Should people be refused treatment due to their lifestyle choices?'
It's for my unit 45 and my teacher has explained it a multitude of times but i have no idea how i should do it.
    Help please??

What is the basis of getting medical treament?
    What is a lifestyle choice?
What is the difference between someone needing treatment as a result of a lifestyle choice and one who needs treatement for other reasons?
Does that mena those who need treatment for lifetsyle chpice decisions are any less valid?
If they are less valid, then should they be refused treatment?

    thank you so much
Do you now understand how the argument works? being able to answer those questions should make it obvious.

Example. I drink alcohol- become an alcoholic.
I play sport and get injured.- Is that my fault?
I eat too much become obese and get diabetes.
I have unportected sex and catch aids or get pregant.
    I smoke and develop cancer.

My lifestyle choices have made all these more likely to happen.
    v

I dont smoke or do any risk increasing activities, but get cancer.

Is one person more deserving of the other to get treatment or should they be treated the same?

Think about why the person controlling the probision of medical services gives treatment. Should they be rationing, will they have to decide in the future?

So its a bit about morals and whether you should help people who put themselves in a riskier place and partly caused their own problems, snoke, drink, eat, drugs etc.

Its a bit about the practical issues of finite resources and whether to treat everyone the same or whther resources are so limited, hen its about time to start prioritising and making people take rsponsibility.

Keep asking yourself these questions make a plan and then the essay answers itself, with ofc your personal views thrown in.
