Hey, sorry if this is a stupid question, im very much a beginner to this subject.
I have a coursework question on the amount of physical and virtual memory my computer can address. i dont really understand what that means? or at least I feel like i should do, i know what physical and virtual memory are, i just dont know how to find out the answer for an individual computer. (Linux)
if i look at cpuinfo it lists 4 processors and for each says it has 36 bits physical, 48 bits 'address sizes'
i dont really get this 'address' thing? what does that mean?

I did EmergencyBagels, but I gave an incorrect answer, so I deleted it. I just said about RAM and page filing about physical and virtual memory, this isn't what you are looking for probably.
