A large percentage of people lose their virginity at University. Why do you think this is? Has it become a 'tradition' to lose your virginity at University?

What do you mean, 'a must'? What, like exams?

I've re-phrased my question. Apologies for it not being so clear.

    How beautifully polite.

My answer - I think a very large proportion of students have popped their cherries long before the first year of undergrad so I wouldn't say it was a 'tradition', no. 30 years ago: maybe.

Average age for losing virginity in the UK is 16.

"The average age at first intercourse has fallen from 17 to 16 for both men and women.(2)
Nearly a third (30 per cent) of men and a quarter (26 per cent) of women aged 16–19 first had sexual intercourse before the age of 16."

It's not tradition... it's just that if you haven't lost it already then chances are you'll lose it at uni
