I suffered with depression from year 9- year 11 so I didn't exactly get the best grades (6 C's,2 B's and an A). I am considering resitting my GCSEs once I've completed my A levels. How do universities (specifically Russell group universities) view GCSEs resits? I would like to study law..

There's no point unless your GCSEs are below the stated minimum requirements of your target universities. Which they probably aren't.

Your A-levels are much more important.

Honestly, your original GCSE grades are absolutely fine. Most universities will accept them, and A levels are more important anyway. I wouldn't worry.

Went through a similar situation and had similar results except one more A, got offers from York and Lancaster for PPE, also applied to Oxford & LSE where I imagine it'll hold me back, hopefully oxford give me then chance to justify it (further than in my reference). Point is, look forwards and not back. If you got a C in maths, I'd say to resit it, with the new GCSEs they don't actually go down as resits not sure if you'd have to declare the originals though, I wouldn't since they don't back check GCSEs as they would with AS/A-levels

Your GCSE's are fine. It's the A levels that matter. It would be a waste of time resitting your GCSE's at this point.
