'Students who use a computer regularly for their homework achieve higher exams grades than those students who do not use it'

IV- Whether they use a computer or not
DV- Their exam grades

I know what operationalising variables means, but I cannot operationalise these variables.

I thought that maybe they could ask the students taking part in the study whether they use a computer regularly for their homework or not, and write down their names with written 'computer' or 'non-computer' next to them.

You can by specifying what they use the computer for. So maybe a particular website or the Internet for definitions etc

I don't think you can really operationalise the dv. It is what it is. Their exam grades. So perhaps be specific on which exams or subject?
