alos what would a dcotor ask? would they do a physical examination?

I'm almost 100% certain that the cause is that I went on a diet and lost 1 stone and 4 pounds in about 3 and a half months
however I now eat a lot some days and then try to be healthy on others but my period hasn't returned
I feel stupid going to the doctors when I know the cause but I don't know how to get them back.
would I have to regain all that weight because I really don't want to

btw I'm 18, about 5 foot 7" in height and weigh about 8 stone and 8pounds so my BMI is about 18.9 which is in healthy range

    thank you!
    defo not pregnant btw x

It could be that your body needs time to readjust after your weight loss, but if you re really concerned then go and see your doctor.

As ^^ claireestelle said your body may need time to adjust.
Other reasons besides pregnancy and menopause
    - weight loss
    -illness
    -iron deficiency
    -travel
-medicines such as birth control methods/some contraceptive pills
    -emotional stress

Towards the end of the page on this site, it explains what to expect at the doctors.

I would definitely just see my doctors. Nothing silly about it.

All of these can affect your period. Plus things like stress and sleep pattern - anything. If you're really concerned, a trip to the GP might be beneficial to rule out anything like polycystic ovaries. My friend didn't have a period for at least 3 months and it's finally come back, so she is relived, there was no cause, these things just happen

could be PCOS or iron deficiency, deff get checked. From experience they'll either do blood tests or an ultra sound scan, but I dont know about any others.
