I have already taken 25 lessons and I failed a driving test in August in my hometown before I started uni away from home, it was a stupid mistake and was easily avoidable, I'm confident in my driving skills.

Now should I take a few driving lessons while I am here at Uni and take the test here or do I wait for the summer holidays and take the test again after a few driving lessons in my hometown where I am familiar with the roads and everything?

I was in the exact same predicament as you. Just had my test and passed (only took 1 lesson in between and that was on the day of the test) so if you're confident you won't make the same mistake, then you should be fine.

Congrats, did you take the test in your hometown or away from your hometown?

Hometown. It's so much easier when you know exactly where you're going.

That's what I thought as well, probably best to wait for summer holidays, I met get a bit rusty potentially but once you learn how to drive a car you really can't forget.
